Always compress your image files before uploading them to your website. ImageOptim is a great Mac app that will reduce the file size without affecting the quality of the image.
ImageOptim removes EXIF meta­data, such as GPS position and the camera’s serial number, so that you can publish images without exposing private information. However, there is an option to keep the meta­data if you need it.

If you’re using CleanMyMac, as I wrote about in another article, you’ve already got the ability to update installed apps. Latest is a free tool that can update your installed apps.

Rocket

Rocket is a Slack-style emoji shortcut app that makes it easier and faster to type emojis. Just start typing an emoji like thumbsup: (👍) and Rocket will help auto-complete it. With Rocket Pro, you can also add gifs, snippets, and symbols to your shortcuts.

Keystroke Pro

There are a few handy apps for the remote presenter. Keystroke Pro simply shows your keystrokes on your screen, which can be helpful when you’re sharing your screen or recording tutorials. This way, your audience can see exactly which keys you’re clicking.

Cursor Pro

Cursor Pro is just one of the apps in the Screen Recording Toolkit bundle. It puts a colored circle around your cursor to make it more visible during a screen-sharing session, presentation, or screen recording.

Mirror Magnet

The last app I’ll mention from the Screen Recording Toolkit bundle is Mirror Magnet. It lets you place your webcam’s live video feed anywhere on your screen, which can be handy for recordings and presentations.

Shifty

Toggle between dark and light modes on your Mac easily with the Shifty app. You can also decide which apps or websites should stay light while your system runs in dark mode.

Onyx

OnyX is a handy tool that can be used to verify the structure of system files, run various maintenance and cleaning tasks, configure parameters in Finder, Dock, Safari, and some Apple applications, delete caches, remove certain problematic folders and files, and more.

Dozer

If you’re looking for a free alternative to the popular Bartender app (I wrote about Bartender in this article), try out Dozer. You can quickly re-order or hide app icons appearing in the Mac menu bar.

SiteSucker

You can download whole websites, including images and PDF files, and save them to your computer for offline browsing. This is similar to the wget command but with a graphical user interface.

AppCleaner

If you’re looking for a way to uninstall apps on your Mac and get rid of all the extra files that are left on the disk, then you should check out a free uninstaller. This will automatically remove all the extra files that are left on the disk when you delete an app.

If your Mac desktop is cluttered with folders and files, you can hide all the icons with a single click or with a keyboard shortcut. This is especially useful if you’re doing a presentation and don’t want people to see all your stuff.

A clipboard manager that lets you store everything you copy to the clipboard and paste it into other apps with a simple shortcut.
Maccy is open-source, so if you want to download and change it, go ahead!

CopyClip

CopyClip is another clipboard manager.
This app is super easy to use and really helpful if you find yourself needing to access things you’ve copied or cut in the past. It runs discreetly from your menu bar and makes it super simple to find whatever you’re looking for.

IINA

There’s a new media player on the scene, and it’s got some pretty sweet features. If you’re looking for an alternative to VLC, check out this new player that supports gestures and the touch bar on newer Macs.
It’s got a floating window feature and can stream YouTube, which is pretty cool.

Unarchiver

If you’re looking for a powerful and versatile RAR opener for Mac, look no further than The Unarchiver. It’s many times more powerful than the built-in macOS utility and supports a huge variety of archive formats such as ZIP, 7-Zip, tar, gzip, bzip2, and so on.
