This morning I had to reset my son’s Apple Watch to fix an issue with School Time.
During reset to pair the watch again, the Watch prompted me to enter the password for the account it was married to previously — using Scribble (you write using your finger one letter at a time) instead of the keyboard.
I tried many ways to enter the number zero (0). I tried
  • drawing a circle, but it entered the letter ‘o’
  • drawing a circle with a horizontal line through the middle, it entered the letter ‘e.’
  • drawing a circle with a vertical line through the middle, it entered the letter ‘D.’
I had to search Google, or Presearch, in my case, because I use the Presearch search engine instead. See this review to see why Presearch is the ultimate search engine:
But I digressed…
Many people suggested doing exactly what I already tried.
The Apple help forum wasn’t very helpful. Some people suggested using the Digital Crowne to scroll to select the zero after writing the circle (or the ‘o’), but that didn’t work because I didn’t provide zero as an option.

The Solution

Here's how to do it for anyone looking for this answer in the future.
Scribble the zero (or the letter ‘o’). The Watch will change it to an asterisk (‘*’) to hide it. Use your finger and click on the last asterisk — it will be tiny, but you can do it! Quickly use the digital crown to scroll to select the zero.
That’s it! That’s the solution. The key is to press on the last asterisk, then use the digital crown to scroll.

Request to Apple

Please provide a way to change the input method from Scribble to keyboard.
Or prompt the user to enter the password using the phone. These ideas would go a long way to improve usability.
